Meet Dr. Des!

Dr. Desiree (Jonas) Strickland, a seasoned public health expert, founded the Public Health Club out of a genuine passion for supporting fellow professionals in the field. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing public health practitioners, Dr. Strickland is committed to providing guidance, mentorship, and inspiration to help you achieve your goals.

She has been a career coach since 2020, with the sole purpose of ensuring that everyone is able to navigate the professional world and get the salary they deserve. As the Founder/CEO of Young Black and Professional, LLC she has developed online courses to help thousands of professionals navigate their career. Born out of witnessing the disparities when it came to people of color in the professional world, Dr. Des decided to take action and develop something that can help. Fast forward to 2024, she has refocused her energy into helping public health professionals navigate their careers. This is largely due to 90% of her previously clients working in the public health sector.
